Dmitry Muratov, journalist, one of the founders of Novaya Gazeta, Nobel Peace Prize laureate and a member of Yabloko since 2003, turns 65 on 29 October. Party Chairman Nikolai Rybakov and Grigory Yavlinsky, Chairman of the party’s Federal Political Committee, have sent him their congratulations:
Dear Dmitry Andreyevich,
Your name has already gone down in our country’s history as a synonym for honour, independence, humanity and the love of peace. Not long ago, you also wrote it into world history when you received the Nobel Prize.
It is an honour for our party to have you as a member. We are glad to walk side by side with you towards a peaceful and free Russia.
Thank you for your invaluable work, for your peace initiatives and for your voice, which has become the voice of those who are not heard or whom people do not want to hear.
With a firm handshake,
Nikolai Rybakov

Dear Dmitry Andreyevich,
Your passionate heart, your noble impulses and your desire to do everything possible (and even the impossible) to help people, especially those who are suffering greatly, strike a chord with everyone who has shared your views for all these 35 years and who remains with you today.
You have done, and continue to do, a great deal to bring about peace and to make human life, at last, the highest goal and the very meaning of politics. You created Novaya Gazeta, a newspaper unique in Russia, and you have earned worldwide recognition with the Nobel Prize.
We have worked together for so many years. When you joined Yabloko, you showed honesty and integrity. We value this greatly and are proud that we are together.
I wish you health and strength, dear Dmitry Andreyevich!
Yours,
Grigory Yavlinsky
