The Omsk Public Prosecutor’s Office has summoned Tatyana Shneider, Chair of Omsk Yabloko, for 21 October “to give explanations and take part in drawing up the resolution” in an administrative case of “inciting hatred” (Article 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences). The Public Prosecutor’s Office also told Tatyana Shneider that a hearing in her case was scheduled at the Kuibyshevsky District Court of Omsk for the same date.
The administrative case against the leader of Omsk Yabloko came to light on 15 October. On the same day, Tatyana Shneider went to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, where she was shown two screenshots: one of the politician’s VK page and the other of a comment she had allegedly written in 2011.
“I did not write this comment and I do not intend to repeat what it says. I can only stress that my page has been hacked regularly over several years,” says Tatyana Shneider. “The latest attempt to hack it was made this year. In addition, on Monday, 19 October, I discovered that someone had logged into my VK page from a device that is completely unknown to me.”
Shneider links the administrative prosecution to her political activities. She also points out that on 15 October, staff at the Public Prosecutor’s Office did not give her the opportunity to examine the case materials in full, putting this off until 21 October, which is effectively the date of the hearing.
It should be noted that Tatyana Shneider has headed Omsk Yabloko since 2023. She is one of the founders of the successful regional campaign “Against Higher Public Transport Fares” in Omsk, and of the nationwide campaigns “For Fair Elections” and “March of Millions” in the Omsk Region. In 2026, Tatyana Shneider was among the top seven candidates on Yabloko’s federal list for the State Duma elections.
