Yabloko Chairman Nikolai Rybakov posted a video message on his Telegram channel describing the party’s strategy for the coming weeks.

“While the fight to reinstate Yabloko’s federal list for the State Duma elections continues, we are focusing our work right now on candidates in single-mandate constituencies and in the regional Legislative Assemblies,” Rybakov says in a video address to the party’s supporters.

The elections will be a contest for 450 seats in the State Duma, half of which (225) are elected from party lists, while the remaining 225 seats are distributed among the winners in single-mandate constituencies. Yabloko candidates will be standing in 126 of the single-mandate constituencies. This means the party has the opportunity to get them elected as State Duma deputies, where they would become a voice for peace and freedom.

Rybakov is confident this is achievable if large numbers of people in 53 regions of Russia turn out at their polling stations and vote for Yabloko candidates. Details of the candidates standing in the various constituencies can be found on the party’s website.

Yabloko supporters can help the party’s candidates win the elections as follows:

1. Distributing Yabloko leaflets — information and the schedule are on the website. Campaigning is starting with Moscow and St. Petersburg, then everywhere else.
2. Sending a request to the party to hand out leaflets in a town where Yabloko does not yet have a leaflet distribution office — Yabloko will send leaflets by post.
3. Continuing to film videos — this will be an important continuation of the campaign for peace.

“We are not stopping for a moment and we are not giving up! There is no question of voting for parties that are part of the ruling establishment — and at present, those are the only ones on the ballot. You still have the chance to cast an honest vote, true to your conscience, for peace to come as soon as possible,” Rybakov writes.

Rybakov also said that in the coming days, Yabloko would file an appeal with the Presidium of the Supreme Court of Russia to have the party’s list reinstated for the elections.
