Yabloko in Kurgan will participate in the City Duma elections

Kurgan Yabloko has nominated Yelena Panova, Chair of the regional branch of the party, as a candidate for the Kurgan City Duma elections in single-mandate electoral constituency No. 3. For registration in the elections, the candidate for Peace and Freedom must provide the electoral commission with about 1,400 signatures from district residents in support of her nomination by 11 July.
Kurgan native Yelena Panova graduated from Kurgan State University with a diploma as a teacher of Russian language and literature, later receiving background in law at the Ural State Law Academy. She is engaged in human rights activities and represents the interests of citizens and companies in courts. Yelena is an active participant in the Yabloko Human Rights Faction.
Yelena Panova, a Yabloko member since 2000, headed Yabloko regional headquarters in federal elections and participated in local government elections as a candidate.
Elections in Kurgan will take place on the single voting day – 14 September.
