Grigory Yavlinsky answered questions from the viewers of the Zhivoi Gvozd YouTube channel about the past, present and future of Russia
Press Release, 29.04.2025
Over the past 120 years, Russia has experienced many tragedies and catastrophes: revolutions, coups d’etat, destructive and bloody wars, and large-scale political repressions. Even the state disappeared twice: in 1917, the Russian Empire collapsed, and in 1991, the Soviet Union fell apart.
In the 21st century, it is necessary to finally build a stable, promising Russian state. To do this, it is important to create a real federation in Russia. A modern and effective federal state means, first of all, financially independent subjects of the federation, in which power is formed through honest, direct, and competitive elections – both at the municipal and regional levels. The government of a federal country must be accountable, work in the interests of the regions and bear direct personal responsibility for what is happening, first of all, to the citizens, and not only to the head of the state.
But now the most important thing is an immediate ceasefire, which is necessary also in order to preserve the perspectives for the future of Russia.
