The Pskov Yabloko team has identified the leaders of work for the next two years

Press Release, 11.04.2022

A conference of the Pskov regional branch of Yabloko took place on 9 April, 2022. Lev Shlosberg, Chairman of the regional branch reported on behalf of the Regional Council on the work of the Yabloko branch for two years (from April 2020 to April 2022), the report was approved by 14 delegates representing 160 members of the party.

The delegates of the conference elected, by secret ballot, the Chairman of the regional branch and his deputies, a member of the Federal Council of the party from the Pskov Yabloko, members of the Regional Council, the Bureau of the Regional Council and the Audit Commission.

Lev Shlosberg was elected chairman of the regional branch, there were elected six Deputy Chairs of the regional branch: four of them were relected –  Svetlana Vasilkova, head of the Pustoshkinsky district; Sofya Pugachyova, head of the Novorzhevsky district; Alexander Konashenkov, deputy of the Gdovsky district Assembly and head of the farm Prometheus; and Dmitry Permyakov, lawyer and ex-deputy of the Pskov City Duma; and two were elected for the first time – Artur Gaiduk, deputy of the Pskov Regional Assembly, and Yana Ivanova, head of the staff of the team.

Sofia Pugachyova was elected a member of the Yabloko Federal Council from the Pskov branch of the party for the second time.

The Conference also elected the Regional Council consisting of 19 people and the Bureau of the Regional Council consisting of 11 people.

“The past two years have continuously tested the Pskov Yabloko team for strength. There were the first multi-day elections in 2020, the elections to the regional parliament in 2021, during which candidates from among the leaders were removed, but the team retained its parliamentary status; targeted political repression with the initiation of politically motivated administrative and criminal cases [against members of the team] brought great anxiety and personal risks to the team, but the team survived, and remains united and motivated to work. The Pskov Yabloko team is a great value both for the Pskov region and for the whole country. These are real people who bring the humanistic future closer to the entire Russian society,” Lev Shlosberg said.

After the end of the conference, members and supporters of the Yabloko party met (via videoconference) with Yabloko Chairman Nikolai Rybakov and Grigory Yavlinsky, Chairman of the Federal Political Committee of the party. Nikolai Rybakov and Grigory Yavlinsky answered the questions of the participants of the meeting.

On Friday, 8 April, on the eve of the conference, Nikolai Rybakov and Lev Shlosberg held working meetings in the Ostrovsky and Novorzhevsky districts of the region.

A meeting was held in Novorzhev with the heads of districts, members of the Yabloko party and districts heads Svetlana Vasilkova and Sofya Pugachyova, as well as their deputies. The participants of the meetings discussed the situation in the field of local self-government in Russia, including that in the Pskov region, the tasks and problems for the work of the heads of districts, and the relationship of the elected heads with state power bodies and local communities.

Lev Shlosberg and Nikolai Rybakov laid flowers to the grave of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin in the Monastery of the Holy Dormition and lit candles in the Assumption Cathedral in memory of people who died in the wars.

Nikolai Rybakov gave special interviews to Ivan Zhuravkov, journalist of the 7×7 publication in the Pskov region, and Yelena Shiryaeva, Editor-in-Chief of the Grazhdanin newspaper.
