On 2 March, Grigory Yavlinsky put forward a proposal that the Yabloko party should be provided the opportunity to organise a humanitarian corridor for the exchange of prisoners and bodies of the dead between Ukraine and Russia. The Yabloko party had such experience during the first Chechen war. The next day, Yabloko Chairman Nikolai Rybakov formally addressed this proposal to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian Ombudsperson Tatyana Moskalkova, International Red Cross President Peter Maurer, head of the Russian Red Cross Pavel Savchuk, and WHO Representative in Russia Melita Vujnovic.

On March 5, the police came to the office of the Pskov branch of Yabloko to conduct an “inspection” and seize computer equipment as part of the administrative proceedings initiated today, on 5 March, under the latest “anti-war” Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (“public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in order to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens, to maintain international peace and security”), which was adopted and entered into force yesterday.

In Rostov-on-Don, a search was carried out at the home of Tatyana Sporysheva, a supporter of the Yabloko party. The police seized all the equipment. The lawyer was not allowed into the apartment. The status of Sporysheva in the case is not clear. On 14 March, the activist was summoned for interrogation within the framework of the case of rehabilitation of Nazism because of a repost in Telegram of an article by journalist Sergei Reznik. A journalist involved in corruption investigations was forced to leave Russia.

At least seven members of the Yabloko party were detained on March 6 in four Russian regions, including chairpersons of the regional branches of the party in Bashkiria, Ivanovo and Rostov regions.
The police detained Maria Krivenko, Chair of the Rostov branch of Yabloko, at the entrance to the party office in Rostov-on-Don in the morning of 6 March. She was taken to police department No 4 of the Leninsky district, where a protocol of a violation was drawn up under Article 20.1 part 2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (“petty hooliganism”). Earlier, another activist of the Rostov branch of Yabloko Vladimir Beradze received 15 days of arrest under the same article. Probably Maria Krivenko will stay at the police department for the night, and tomorrow, 7 March, she will appear before the court.

On 3 March, the police in Rostov-on-Don detained Vladimir Beradze, a member of the Yabloko party. He is one of the applicants for the action “For Peace and Friendship Between Peoples”.
The police approached Beradze in the street and checked his documents, and then took away his passport and phone. The police accused the activist of swearing and molesting passers-by, as well as resisting arrest, which was not true.

Yabloko Chairman Nikolai Rybakov sent appeals to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova, International Red Cross President Peter Maurer, head of the Russian Red Cross Pavel Savchuk, and WHO representative in Russia Melita Vujnovic, urging them to provide an opportunity for Yabloko for practical creation of a special humanitarian corridor for the exchange of prisoners and the bodies of the dead with Ukraine, as well as to provide evacuation routes for the civilian population.
Rybakov refers to Article 110 of the Geneva Convention, according to which prisoners of war are subject to direct repatriation.
The Yabloko leader emphasises that the party has the necessary resources and experience gained during the two Chechen wars.
