Yabloko goes on conducting in its regional offices traditional actions in support of Russian political prisoners. Political prisoners do not have summer season or holidays. That is why it is so important not to stop supporting those behind bars. Yabloko has developed an instruction for writing and sending letters, so that people can get in touch with political prisoners even if they do not have the opportunity to come to one of the Yabloko offices for the action.

Yabloko Chairman Nikolai Rybakov commented on the decision of the Ministry of Justice to recognise Lev Shlosberg, a member of the Yabloko Federal Political Committee, a “foreign agent.”

Sergei Mitrokhin decided not to participate in elections of the Moscow Mayor because of the inability to campaign for peace with Ukraine. He made this announcement at the conference of the Moscow branch of Yabloko. Mitrokhin also stressed that he had no doubts that a candidate with such a stance would not be allowed to participate in the elections. Yabloko supported his stand and decided not to nominate another candidate.

On 22 June, Yabloko Chairman Nikolai Rybakov will launch screening of a documentary film Pogostiye (Burying Ground), based on the book “Memories of the War” by Nikolai Nikulin. The event will be held at the central office of Yabloko in Moscow, staring at 19.00 (Moscow time).
The Pskov branch of Yabloko used the remainder of the charitable amount raised to pay the fine for Yelena Kuzmina, a Pskov resident accused of extremism and terrorism for her posts on VKontakte social media criticizing Vladimir Putin, so that to help to cover the fines for 15 more people.

Boris Vishnevsky, MP of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg and Deputy Chairman of Yabloko, appealed to the Governor Alexander Beglov and the general director of DOM.RF Vitaly Mutko asking them to take urgent measures so that to return the memorial plaque to renowned poet Anna Akhmatova to walls of the former Kresty prison.
The memorial plaque hung on the wall of the main entrance to the Kresty prison. It depicted a portrait of Anna Akhmatova and the lines from her poem “Requiem”. In the 1930s, victims of Stalin’s repressions accused in propaganda or calls to overthrow, undermine or weaken the Soviet regime served their sentences in Kresty. In 1930s Anna Akhmatova spent months in queues along with other women waiting for news of their loved ones. Her son Lev Gumilyov (who later became a famous historian) was imprisoned in Kresty.
Earlier, Sobyanin promised to lift restrictions if the WHO announced the end of the pandemic.

The head of the Yabloko faction in the Moscow City Duma, Maxim Kruglov, demanded in his letter to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, dated 10 May, the immediate lifting of the anti-COVID ban on public events, as the World Health Organisation (WHO) announced the end of the pandemic on 5 May.
It became clear on 24 February, 2022, that there are no good options for the development of the situation. Since then, there have been only bad options and even worse ones. And now there is only one correct and, most importantly, ultimately inevitable solution: stop killing of many thousands of people and destruction of the infrastructure of life by concluding a ceasefire agreement.

It is reported that vandals have recently removed at least eight plaques installed on the houses where the victims of Stalin’s regime had lived. Vladimir Ryzhkov, an MP of the Moscow City Duma from Yabloko, sent an appeal to Oleg Baranov, the head of the Moscow police, demanding to conduct an investigation and bring the perpetrators to administrative responsibility.
The Yabloko Party University hosted a lecture by Sergei Mitrokhin, MP of the Moscow City Duma, Chairman of the Yabloko party from 2008 to 2015 and candidate of political sciences. The lecture was devoted to the tradition of constituent assemblies and their role in the future revival of Russia. The lecture was timed to Sergei Mitrokhin’s anniversary, as on 20 May he turned 60. Mitrokhin spent exactly half of his life at Yabloko. At the beginning of the lecture, he received congratulations from all the other chairpersons of the party: Grigory Yavlinsky, Emilia Slabunova and Nikolai Rybakov.

Celebrating today’s holiday – Russia Day – the top officials make pompous statements, but try not to recall the document with the adoption of which is associated with this day: 33 years ago, on June 12, 1990, the Congress of People’s Deputies of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR) adopted the Declaration of the State Sovereignty of the RSFSR by 907 votes against 13 (nine abstained), And it is clear why: it strikingly clashes with their present policies.

Boris Vishnevsky, Deputy Chairman of the Yabloko Party, won the Petropol Prize. He is awarded the prize for the book about science fiction writers Arkady and Boris Strugatsky and his protection of St. Petersburg architectural heritage. The Prize is awarded annually for achievements in the field of culture and art, and philanthropy.

On 29 September, 2018, the Nazran City Court found the leader of the Ingush Yabloko, Ruslan Mutsolgov, guilty of violating the procedure for holding public events and fined him 10,000 roubles. The Supreme Court of Ingushetia approved the fine, and Mutsolgov filed a complaint against this decision with the European Court of Human Rights.
On the morning of 7 June, friends and former colleagues of Larisa Yudina visited her grave at the Elista cemetery, went to the street named after Larisa, and gathered in the office of the Kalmykia regional branch of Yabloko to remember Larisa.

UPDATE: 8 June, 17:15. The court imprisoned Yabloko activist Vasily Neustroyev in a pre-trial detention centre. Such a measure of restraint was chosen for him for two months (until August 5), after which the court will be able to extend it or choose another measure.
The meeting of the Basmanny Court in Moscow on choosing a preventive measure for Vasily Neustroev will be held today, 8 June, at 14:00. Hundreds of people are confident in the innocence of Vasily Neustroyev. The defence will provide the court with statements of readiness to stand surety for Vasily.

Due to the current extraordinary and tragic circumstances, the participation of the Yabloko party in the September elections of the top officials of the subjects of the federation (including the elections of the Mayor of Moscow) makes political sense only if it contributes to saving human lives, a ceasefire and start peace talks. For all the significance of regional and local problems that should have been the subject of election campaigns, under the current conditions, the future of the country does not depend on the solution of these problems, but on whether the federal policies change.
25 years ago, Larisa Yudina, Co-Chair of the Yabloko branch in Kalmykia, was murdered. Her whole life was connected with journalism. In 1991, Yudina headed the newspaper Sovietskaya Kalmykia. The paper was well-known for fight against corruption and criticism of the President of Kalmykia, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, who, during the election campaign in 1993, announced that he would manage Kalmykia as a corporation.
On 5 June, Yabloko held a round table of its Gender Faction “The National Strategy for Women for 2023-2030: How to Evaluate?”. Do the quantitative data contained in the document correspond to reality? Does the Strategy really meet the objectives of achieving gender equality? Vasily Yeryomin, head of the Yabloko faction in the City Duma of Tomsk, asked the Public Prosecutor’s Office to check Alexei Didenko, an MP of the State Duma elected from the Tomsk region, in view of his statement about the need to destroy the Ukrainian state and language, according to the Telegram channel “TV2. News of Tomsk and Siberia”.
“I would like to turn to the public prosecutors: is this not inciting ethnic hatred? I ask you to investigate and prosecute Alexei Nikolaevich Didenko under this article of the Criminal Code,” Vasily Yeryomin said at a meeting of the City Duma.
