Yabloko has applied for May Day demonstrations “For Peace!” in Moscow, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Miass and Magnitogorsk.
In Moscow, the applicants for the action were Yabloko Chairman Nikolai Rybakov, Maxim Kruglov, head of the Yabloko faction in the Moscow City Duma, and Andrei Morev, head of the Yakimanka urban district, deputy chairman of the Moscow Yabloko.
At the beginning of his speech at the 21st Party Congress, Yabloko Party Chairman Nikolai Rybakov drew the delegates’ attention to a printed replica of Pablo Picasso’s Guernica, which was placed on the wall instead of the traditional banner with Yabloko party symbols.
“Today’s fate of many cities in Ukraine – Mariupol and Chernihiv, the most ancient city of the ancient Kievan Rus state, repeats the fate of Guernica. Opening our congress, we must speak about all those who died in this massacre. Civilian and military, Ukrainians and Russians, children, women, men, young and old. Those who was bemauled, wounded, raped, became a refugee, who is now hiding from the shells in the basements. There are millions of them. We are their voice in Russia, of those who are dying and praying for peace,” Yabloko Chairman said.

Lev Shlosberg, Chairman of the Pskov branch of Yabloko and a member of the Yabloko Federal Political Committee, and his wife Zhanna were fined 32,000 and 30,000 roubles, respectively, for “discrediting the armed forces of the Russian Federation”. This decision was made today by the Pskov City Court.
The 21the Congress of the Yabloko party adopted the final block of amendments to the Yabloko Charter. It was the forth stage of the Congress and it took place on 16 April. The key changes concerned the procedure for joining the party and responsibility of party members.

Alexander Shishlov, head of the Yabloko faction in the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg and ex Ombudsman for Human Rights in St.Petersburg, was additionally elected a member of the Federal Political Committee of the Yabloko party, 88 delegates of the the 21st Yabloko Party Congress voted for him. The Congress was held in closed format in Moscow today, on 16 April.

A criminal case has been filed against Mikhail Afanasyev, a member of the Yabloko party and Editor-in-Chief of the Novy Focus media in Abakan, Khakiassia. The Criminal case is filed under Article 207.3, Part 2, Paragraph “a”, of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. He is charged with dissemination of false information about the armed forces of the Russian Federation using his official position.
Chairman of the Yabloko party Nikolai Rybakov appealed to the Russian Minister of Internal Affairs, the Public Prosecutor General, and the heads of the Investigative Committee and the Department of Transport of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in connection with the attack on Dmitry Muratov, Editor-in-Chief of Novaya Gazeta, Nobel Peace Prize winner and member of the Yabloko party. Rybakov demanded that those involved in the attack be found and brought to justice.

Alexander Shishlov, head of the Yabloko faction in the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, spoke at the Legislative Assembly about functioning of the law enforcement. He emphasized the importance of their strict observance of the rights of citizens and criticised absurd detentions for posters “No to War” or “Peace for the World”.
Vladimir said that yesterday, on 11 April, he arrived to his house by car, but a minibus without any identification signs was waiting for him. When he got out of his car, the police detained him, took him to the bus and drove him to the police station. Only a few hours later Vladimir was allowed to inform his relatives about the detention.

On April 13, the judge of the Yakutsk City Court found found Anatoly Nogovitsyn, the leader of the Yakutsk branch of Yabloko, guilty of “discrediting the armed forces of the Russian Federation” and fined him 30,000 roubles.
Boris Vishnevsky, a member of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg and Deputy Chairman of the Yabloko party, signed a bailment for the artist Alexandra Skochilenko, who, according to the investigation, “spread false information about the Russian army”. Vishnevsky sent a guarantee letter to the Vasileostrovskiy District Court, where a trial on choosing a measure of restraint for Alexandra Skochilenko should be held.

On 11 April, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Barnaul found Alexander Goncharenko, a member of the Federal Bureau of the Yabloko party and Chairman of the Altai regional branch of Yabloko, guilty under a new article on “discrediting the armed forces of the Russian Federation” and fined him 30,000 roubles.

The results of the by-elections for a mandate of the Novgorod City Duma of the sixth convocation in single-mandate constituency No. 3, for which the Novgorod branch of the Yabloko party nominated Ksenia Cherepanova, have been summed up.

It was reported today that Oksana Vladyka, the head of the Yabloko branch in Arkhangelsk and human rights activist, was detained in Arkhangelsk. The detention was connected with a protocol drawn up against her under Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (“disobedience to the lawful order of a police officer”) for being in the city square on 27 February, where holding of a pacifist action was announced. An administrative protocol was drawn up against Vladyka, Oksana spent a day in the police department.
A conference of the Pskov regional branch of Yabloko took place on 9 April, 2022. Lev Shlosberg, Chairman of the regional branch reported on behalf of the Regional Council on the work of the Yabloko branch for two years (from April 2020 to April 2022), the report was approved by 14 delegates representing 160 members of the party.

Grigory Yavlinsky, the founder of Yabloko, is celebrating his 70th birthday today. Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, former Deputy Prime Minister of the USSR, MP of the State Duma and the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, Grigory Yavlinsky remains a figure standing out among all the other in the socio-political field in Russia.
For all his years in the big-league politics, Yavlinsky was able to retain his main quality – remaining human in any circumstances and defend humanistic ideals with all his passion.
For almost 30 years, he has consistently opposed war. Any war.
