Candidate for Moscow Mayor Sergei Mitrokhin demanded from the temporary acting mayor Sergei Sobyanin to preserve one of the last village schools in Moscow. School No 740 is situated in the Molzhaninovsky district of Moscow. On August 26 the parents learned that their children will be transferred to another school in the Zelenograd city 15 kilometers away from the place. Read more »

Sergei Mitrokhin, candidate for the Mayor of Moscow, filed to complaints to the Moscow Electoral Commission on violations committed by Acting Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin during the election campaign: Press Service of the Acting Mayor works in the election campaign of the candidate and releases election videos (one of which incites xenophobia) in the Internet that are not paid from a special electoral account as envisaged by law. In addition Mitrokhin demanded from the Investigative Committee to file a criminal case for Sobyanin’s releasing a xenophobic video and institute criminal proceedings in accordance with Article 282 of the Criminal Code. At night of August 23, Natalya Romanuk, leader of the Ust-Labinsk branch of YABLOKO, Krasnodar Territory, had suffered an attempt against her life. Her car was severely hit on a highway by a black car. By a lucky chance the woman managed to avoid a collision with a car ahead and wasn’t badly injured. Ambulance doctors registered that Natalya Romanuk had knee-joint injuries. Read more »

Emiliya Slabunova is also member of the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Karelia and member of YABLOKO’s Political Committee. Human rights activists have appealed to the Russian intelligentsia calling that latter to intervene with all available means and pacify the anti-migrant hysteria associated with the Moscow mayoral elections. Lydia Grafova, journalist and one of the authors of the appeal, in her interview at the Echo Moskvi radio station noted that there was only one candidate for the Mayor of Moscow – Sergei Mitrokhin – who did not say that migrants represented a big danger or a curse.
