The Centre for Anti-Corruption Policy of the Yabloko party appealed to the Tatarstan Public Prosecutor’s Office demanding that officials of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan be inspected for corruption. Officials are suspected of exceeding their official authority in organising tenders. Information about the illegal actions of officials became known during the trial on the cartel case.Read more »
After the scandal [with tremendous fraud by the candidate from the ruling United Russia party] in the election of the governor of the Maritime Territory, the Maritime Territorial Electoral Commission canceled the results of the second round. Two candidates ran in the second round: Andrei Tarasenko (the United Russia party), Interim Governor of the region, and Andrei Ischenko, candidate from the Communist Party, who leading during the voting. However, after counting 99 per cent of the ballots, it turned out that Tarasenko [from United Russia] was ahead, which provoked a protest from the region’s residents and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, which announced massive falsifications. According to the official results, only one person voted for Yabloko at the polling station No 1170 in the Volgograd Region. However, seven people have already appealed to Yabloko claiming that they voted for the party at this polling station. Chair of the regional party branch Galina Boldyreva appealed to court demanding that it should annul the election results and recount votes.Read more »
Anton Gordyuk, Yabloko’s candidate in the elections to the Koltushsky city council, the Leningrad Region, demanded that the Central Electoral Commission annul the voting results. The grounds for this measure is vote-buying and fraud at a large scale. Read more »
On September 16, the Kostroma branch of Yabloko and a number of environmental groups conducted a picket against a landfill site in the region. Yabloko Chair Emilia Slabunova sent a letter to President Vladimir Putin demanding that he dismiss head of Russia’s National Guard Viktor Zolotov. On Tuesday the official challenged opposition politician Alexei Navalny to a duel promising to make a ‘juicy steak’ of him. The statement was published on Russia’s National Guard official website.

The main aim of the government of any country is to preserve its reputation, contribute to its reputation and make the country respectable and trustworthy. These elections turned out to be difficult for the Pskov branch of Yabloko. Vitaly Arshinov, Yabloko’s candidate for the post of governor, did not overcome the “municipal filter” [mandatory collection of signatures of regional deputies in favour of his registration in the race] and refused to participate in the campaign.
