Natalya Pochinok, Rector of the Russian State Social University, had to cancel her order on the expulsion of Anton Ocheretin and Danila Petrov from the university, after the Public Prosecutor General’s Office proposed her to eliminate violations of the legislation on education. Students were expelled in April this year for trying to leave the hostel for the pharmacy. From the point of view of the management of the university, this was a gross violation of the temporary rules for living in a hostel, introduced in connection with the quarantine.
The Zheleznogorsk City Court, having considered the claim from the LDPR party against the electoral commission of the municipality, ruled to cancel the registration of the list of Yabloko in the elections to the Zheleznogorsk City Council that are due on September 13. The court agreed with the arguments of LDPR about violations allegedly committed by Yabloko in nominating candidates.
However, neither the territorial electoral commission nor the regional branch of Yabloko recognised the claims and intend to prove the case in a court of a higher instance, basing on the federal legislation and the charter of the Yabloko party. The case will be heard on September 2 by the administrative board of the regional court.

29 years ago, a group of gray, but high-ranking Soviet officials tried to turn history back and return a huge country to the same gray past as they were. But hundreds of thousands of people across the country took to the streets to defend their future. Then, in August 1991, people had been openly demanding for several years already freedom and democracy, cessation of state lies, elimination of the command-administrative system, censorship and lawlessness… And the members of the State Emergency Committee [which attempted the coup] did not understand at all what was happening in the country, they lived as if in another world, they did not know what people wanted, what they hoped for, what they were striving for. This is generally typical of those who have been sitting at the top of power for decades. The State Emergency Committee did not believe that the absolute majority of the country’s citizens would be against them. Therefore, the coup – despite the fact that it was organised by the Chairman of the KGB, the Minister of Defence, and the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – failed in just a couple of days, smashed to smithereens.
