The Sverdlovsk Region branch of the Yabloko party will nominate candidates from the united democratic coalition for the by-election to the Yekaterinburg Duma in Leninsky District No. 9 and Verkh-Isetsky District No. 3.
“The Bureau of the Regional Council of Yabloko has made a historic decision. We will participate in the by-elections to the Yekaterinburg City Duma, and we will determine the candidates during a joint preliminary vote with other parties and political organisations in Yekaterinburg that share our values and views,” Maxim Petlin, member of the Yabloko Federal Bureau, said.
On Monday, 21 September, Alexandr Makhankov, member of the Bureau of the St.Petersburg branch of Yabloko and Chairman of the local Yabloko branch in the city of Pushkin, together with representatives of the #Khochuvpark (I Want to the Park) initiative group, submitted to the reception of the Governor of St. Petersburg a letter demanding free access of citizens to the suburban parks.
About 4,000 residents of St.Peterburg left their signatures under the demand.
On September 24, Yabloko will hold an online discussion on the progressive personal income tax: “On the inclusion of the requirement to introduce a progressive personal income tax into the party’s programme documents”.
The discussion is organised by the Social Democratic faction of the Yabloko party.
Representatives of Yabloko in Novosibirsk insist on revising the results of elections to the Novosibirsk City Council in single-mandate constituency No 35.
The local organisation of the Yaboko party forwarded an open appeal to Tamara Kratkaya, Chair of the Novosibirsk City Municipal Electoral Commission with a demand to deprive Yevgeny Yakovenko of his deputy mandate and to revise the results of elections to the City Council in single-mandate constituency No 35. Yabloko asks to remove the Chairman of the precinct electoral commission from his post, as well as the Chair of the territorial electoral commission.

The reduction in the number of deputies of the Pskov Regional Assembly from 44 to 26 was discussed in the program “Day Watch” on the Echo Moskvi radio station in Pskov. Lev Shlosberg, who represents the Yabloko party in the regional parliament, expressed his opinion on this initiative.
A regular meeting of the 12th Floor discussion club was held in the Kaliningrad Yabloko office. Its topic was the discussion of the scandalous elections in the Zelenogradsk town, the Kaliningrad region. According to the official data, Yabloko received there only 3.09% and failed to pass the 5% threashold.
The Second Court of Appeal in St. Petersburg sided with the defenders of Chelyabinsk forest that the city authorities were planning to cut. The Court overturned not only the decision of the Chelyabinsk Regional Court, but also the decision of the Regional Legislative Assembly to change the boundaries of the city’s only natural monument. Lawyers Andrei Talevlin and Vladimir Kazantsev (the latter is under house arrest now) managed to win the case.
Ronald Ayrapetyan, Yabloko activist from Kislovodsk, told the media that he was threatened with murder if he continued to take action against Putin and United Russia.
According to Ayrapetyan, on the evening of 12 September, he was returning home after a walk with a friend. An unidentified masked man with a knife was waiting for the activist in the stairway.
Ivan Bolshakov, Deputy Chairman of Yabloko, commented on the statement of Ella Pamfilova, head of the Central Electoral Commission about the party’s observers:
Yesterday at a meeting of the Central Electoral Commission, Ella Pamfilova publicly criticised Yabloko saying that our party sent the least number of observers to the elections and cited the figure “128 people”: “This is already a pattern from the Yabloko party: the fewer observers they have, the louder their denunciatory statements are,” the head of the Central Electoral Commission said.
Danil Beglets, Kirill Zhukov, Yevgeny Kovalenko, Konstantin Kotov, Yegor Lesnykh, Eduard Malyshevsky, Maxim Martintsov, Ivan Podkopayev and Sergei Surovtsev. All of these people were sent to jail because they dared to speak out against the authorities’ criminal election fraud and because they were courageous enough to protest openly in the streets.
The events in Ingushetia over the past two years have exposed and demonstrated the failure of the concept of the vertical of power and the entire system of government in the Republic. The procedure for “election” of the head of the Republic of Ingushetia has actually been turned into a system for appointing a representative loyal to the Kremlin. Candidates who are strong and respected by the people, who have the support of potential voters, are not allowed to the election of the head of the Republic by means of various kinds of manipulations and procedures. A person, who is deliberately focused on satisfying the will of the country’s leadership, rather than solving problems in the region, is brought to power. The authorities do not hear and do not respect people’s opinions. Political deafness, unwillingness to take into account the requests and just indignation of citizens increase the gap between society and the government, lead to the alienation of people from the state.
During regional and local elections in Russia of 13 September, 48 deputies from the Yabloko party were elected in 12 regions. The deputies of the Yabloko party will work in the Kostroma Regional Duma, as well as in the city councils of Tomsk, Kaluga and Kostroma. Party representatives were also elected to the municipal councils of Bashkiria, Dagestan, the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Moscow, Novgorod, Omsk, Samara and Pskov regions.
On 13 September, a single voting day in Russia, the Yabloko party launched a hotline for calls on violations at polling stations.
The most widespread violation, which Yabloko observers record as of 15:00 (Moscow time) is manipulation of the results of early voting. Calls about this came from more than half of the regions where candidates from the party participate in elections.
According to preliminary data, the list of the Yabloko party in the elections to the Tomsk City Duma is gaining more than 8% of the votes. This result suggests that there will be one deputy mandate – it will go to the leader of the list, Vasily Yeremin.
The Second Court of Appeal of St.Petersburg did not satisfy the complaint of Yabloko candidate Oleg Mandrykin against the refusal of the electoral commission to register him as a candidate for Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region.
