Emilia Slabunova: Why do we have to come to the demonstration in memory of Boris Nemtsov
Two years ago Boris Nemtsov was murdered. He was a free, fearless and active citizen, a politician, and a bright personality. It was a purely political murder committed in the most political place in Russia: by the Kremlin walls. This murder had a political goal: to intimidate the Russian society and show that this would happen to anyone opposing the government.
These were shots not only in Boris Nemtsov. These were the shots in each of us so that to kill our faith in justice, our hope for freedom and spread fear.
On the 26th of February, we will have an opportunity to respond to the government’s challenging the entire Russian society. The Cold Civil War, which the government has been trying to impose on us, will not go. There are people in Russia who are able to stop it. This is all of us.
This Sunday the YABLOKO party will form a column on the demonstration in memory of Boris Nemtsov. I will be there and invite you to come too.
