To ensure successful property protection, the employees of the appropriate subdivisions must be accorded a special status: - employees working in the special property protection subdivisions are deemed to be part of the operating reserves of the Russian Federation ministries of internal affairs and security, retaining all rights, obligations, and privileges provided for emplo yees of the internal affairs and security agencies; and - permission is given to hire on a contractual basis the former employees and retirees of the internal affairs ministry, socially active individuals, and (as officers) servicemen from the Armed Forces dismissed due to staff cutbacks, with the retention of all privileges provided for employees of the internal affairs and security agencies.
