YABLOKO
to conduct lectures for electoral commission members
with a casting vote

2012.
Next week YABLOKO launches a series
of lectures on the work of electoral commission members
with a casting vote. All candidates to electoral commissions
(those registered at the party web-site and those
not registered yet) can listen to the lectures.
A law on formation of precinct electoral
commissions for next five years came into force on
November 1. These commissions will work at elections
of all levels until April 2018. YABLOKO goes on recruiting
candidates for nomination as members of precinct electoral
commissions with a casting vote...

Kovalyov's lecture "Morals and Politics"
to take place in YABLOKO’s office

The first lecture "Morals and
Politics" out of Sergei Kovalyov's bloc of lectures
will take place in YABLOKO's office tomorrow, on October
25.
It is also planned that the lectures
will be further published as a separate book.
The bloc of lectures will be launched
by Grigory Yavlinsky, YABLOKO founder.
Vladislav Inozemtsev, Director of
the Centre of Post-Industrial Studies, Valentin Gefter,
Director of the Human Rights Institute, Lidia Grafova,
Chair of the Migrants’ Organisations and other will
also participate in further discussion.

Head of the YABLOKO’s Evening
University and First Deputy Chair of the Moscow branch
of YABLOKO, Galina Mikhalyova announced another set
of lectures by Memorial and a new programme –
the Ecological School – which will be launched
in October. The Fall Session was opened by Alexander
Daniel’s lecture “Human Rights Organisations
in the USSR”. (Prof.Daniel is member of the
Board of the Memorial human rights society). Prof.Daniel
spoke in detail about the development of human rights
movement in the USSR drawing the attention of the
audience to the specifics of the organisations... |
An
unlearned lesson of totalitarian past

Another lecture in the series of the
Evening Party University lectures took place on May
26 in YABLOKO’s office, Moscow. The lecture
“An unlearned lesson of the totalitarian past”
was delivered by Galina Mikhalyova, Executive Secretary
of YABLOKO’s Political Committee and head of
the Evening Party University.
Mikhalyova presented the decision
by YABLOKO’s Political Committee on overcoming
Bolsheviks’ and Stalin’s legacy as a condition
for Russia’s modernization in the 21st century.
She also presented a second edition of the book Overcoming
Stalin’s Legacy which runs that Russia’s
development is impossible without state assessment
of totalitarian past.
Mikhlyova also noted that the crimes
of the Soviet period affected virtually every family:
“Stalin’s methods of governing led to
deaths of millions of Soviet citizens, and dozens
of millions people were affected by political reprisals
and deportations”... |

Lecture
of the Evening Party University “The History
of the Party: Changes in the By-Laws and Governing
Bodies. The Structure and Political Goals”

On November 25, 2009, another lecture
of the Evening Party University took place. Boris
Misnik, Coordinator and member of the Political Committee
of the YABLOKO party, deputy of the State Duma of
the second convocation and member of YABLOKO since
its formation, delivered a lecture on the history
of the party, changes in its by-laws and governing
bodies. The audience were members and advocates of
YABLOKO...
The Evening Party University will
maintain its work: on December 9 a meeting with Professor
of the Higher School of Economics, member of YABLOKO’s
Political Committee and Chair of the party in 1993-2008
Dr. Grigory Yavlinsky will take place.
