Press conference “Black Sea Palaces and Their Hosts”

Press-conference of the ecologists who served their imprisonment sentences in Tuapse prison for conducting a public inspection of the country cottage of Governor of Kransodar Area Alexander Tkacyov will be held in YABLOKO’s office tomorrow on March 10.


“The Krasnodar prisoners of conscience” – Eugeny Vitushko, leader of the Tuapse YABLOKO and Suren Gazaryan, member of YABLOKO, will tell about the unlawful construction of a recreation complex for Governor Tkachoyv in the relict pin forest protected by the state, as well as other complexes and palaces unlawfully constructed at the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar Area.


Vitishko spent 10 days in jail and was released today. He was on hunger strike for the last eight days in prison protesting against the imprisonment as well as violation of human rights in the prison.


YABLOKO’s activists say that imprisonment of the leader YABLOKO’s branch in Tuapse demonstrated the desire of the local authorities to press one of the leaders of environmentalists in the region.


YABLOKO’s leader Sergei Mitrokhin will also participate in the press-conference.


The conference “Black Sea Palaces and Their Hosts” will begin at 2 p.m.
