| YABLOKO is going to question in the Constitutional Court
of the RF the lawfulness of the draft law on monetization of social benefits
after the law comes into force. This statement was made by deputy of the
State Duma and member of the YABLOKO party Sergei
Popov to the Ekho Moskvi radio station. He also noted that it was crystal
clear that the President would sign the bill.
According to Popov, the "technology of adopting the law is completely
violated." In particular, on Thursday the document was distributed
among deputies at only 8 p.m., however, in accordance with the Duma regulations
this should have been done by 3 p.m., said Popov. "This is a violation
of the law and of Duma Regulations," stressed Popov. "The state
could have changed the system of benefits without leading to a deterioration
in the social protection of the population," noted Popov.
