Sickly Gitin Freed

KRASNOYARSK , Western Siberia — Former State Duma Deputy Viktor Gitin, who was arrested three weeks ago on charges of bribery, was released from a prison hospital Monday, but had to sign an obligation not to leave Krasnoyarsk.

Local television showed Gitin, who could barely walk out of the prison door. His lawyer said Gitin's condition was "very complicated" and he would be immediately hospitalized.

Gitin's fellow Yabloko politicians maintain that Gitin is innocent and his arrest was political.
