The local authorities of the North-Western Administrative
District of Moscow denied YABLOKO a permission to hold a march
towards the Ostankino television centre on April 14. The officials
proposed to the organizers to hold a rally instead. Also they
limited the number of participants from 5,000 (as in YABLOKOs
application) to 200.
Initially it was planned to hold a march and a rally. The
local authorities did not give any reasons for not giving
a permission for the march.
YABLOKO agreed to hold a rally, however, the party is not
going to limit the number of its members.
The main slogan of the campaign will be "For the freedom
of the media! Against the lies and censorship at television!
The action will be held on April 14 at 14:00.
A previous march towards Ostankino television centre took
place in 2007. It was attended by 5,000 people.
