Picket against discrimination of military pensioners took place
in Blagoveschensk (the Amur Region) on February 23 (Defender
of the Fatherland Day).
The action was organised by the Amur Region branch of YABLOKO.
The city government gave a permission to conduct the action
in the center of the city.
About twenty activists participated in the picketing. The
activists distributed leaflets and collected signatures under
Sergei Mitrokhin’s address to the President of the Russia.
The police did not interfere this time.
Despite preliminary announcements of the action none of the
local journalists risked to go against Governor’s order and
report on the action in the media.
Nonetheless the collection of signatures goes on. The signatures
will be sent to YABLOKO’s Moscow office and than handed to
President Medvedev.
