September 29 was the expiration date for submitting documents
to the post of the head of the Tula administration. Sergei
Filatov, coordinator of the Tula regional branch of YABLOKO
and deputy of the Tula City Duma, is one of the candidates
for the post.
In his interview to the Tula Information Service agency
Filatov told why he had adopted such a decision to run for
the head of the city administration. "First, I would
like to return democratic rules in electing head of the
administration, as when he was elected by the people. In
addition, I would like to get an experience in the governing
of the city of Tula."
"As administration head I shall spare no effort so
that the city would live peacefully, so that there would
be less intrigues around use of the budget funds. I shall
do all I can so that the money would go to the programmes
they are allotted to and shall try to become a good anti-crisis
manager for the city," Filatov said.
