The leader of the Yabloko faction of the State Duma of the RF Grigory Yavlinsky thinks that the agreements reached during the Moscow summit of the US and the RF presidents "will open doors to Europe" for Russia.

According to Yavlinsky, if the agreements between the RF and the USA are implemented, Russia may gain a "new energy". "Gradually it will become necessary to create another government, another defence ministry and another foreign affairs ministry," said Grigory Yavlinsky in his interview with the Moskovskie Novosti newspaper, published on Tuesday May 28, 2002.

Grigory Yavlinsky also thinks that the President of Russia has taken on, "and quite suddenly, a extremely heavy responsibility."

Grigory Yavlinsky does not agree with the opinion that the Western democracies could help Russia solve its inner problems. As an example he recalled that "the West reached agreement with the military junta in Pakistan", because it was convenient for them to do so.

Based on Interfax reports.
