The leader of the Yabloko party Grigory Yavlinsky will participate in the session of the World Economic Forum to be held in Moscow on October 29-30, 2001. The meeting will be devoted to the current state of Russia’s economy and development prospects.

October 30 will be the key day in the work of the Forum. The leader of Yabloko will make a speech at the plenary meeting devoted to the results of the Moscow session of the World Economic Forum, entitled "Russia, Europe and Globalisation".

As well as participating in the discussions Yavlinsky will answer the questions of Russian and foreign journalists at a press conference to be held on October 30 at 2.30 p.m. The topic of the press-conference is "Globalisation and Risks for Russia's Economy".

On October 29 Yavlinsky will make a speech at the reception devoted to the opening of the Forum.

The World Economic Forum has been holding similar external sessions on regional issues on a regular basis. The previous session devoted to Russia took place in Moscow in 1998.
