The Yabloko faction may support the main parameters of the draft budget for 2002 in the first reading, said the leader of the Yabloko faction Grigory Yavlinsky at press conference in Moscow on Thursday, September 27, 2001.

He also noted that this refers only to voting in the first reading; whereas there will be many problems in the preparation of the draft for the second reading.

Yavlinsky also noted that the government had considered many of Yabloko’s proposals in their corrections of the draft.

The leader of the Yabloko faction also stressed that “present contacts with the government, the results of consultations with the Cabinet, and level of interaction in general “are incomparable with those of previous Cabinets.

“The dialogue becomes broader and is conducted at a professional level, although serious debates do occur,” noted Yavlinsky.
