Vladimir Lukin discusses migration policy issues with the Governor of Kuban Alexander Tkachyov and the Mayor of Sochi Leonid Mostovoi. Deputy Head of the RF State Duma Vladimir Lukin (the Yabloko faction) had a meeting with the Governor of Kuban Alexander Tkachyov and Mayor of Sochi Leonid Mostovoi, where they discussed migration policy issues.

In particular, they discussed a corresponding draft law. According to one of the leaders of the Sochi branch of Yabloko who took part in the discussion, Lukin noted that both the government and the conciliatory commission had issued negative opinions on the migration draft law which had been prepared jointly by Krasnodar Territory and Adygeya.

Lukin also said that Yabloko was ready to assume the role of expert in further developing the draft law within the framework of RF Constitution and international treaties of the Russian Federation.

The Administration of Krasnodar Territory believes that uncontrolled flows of migrants enter this region engendering inter-ethnic tension. According to the regional authorities, this tension is likely to grow, unless urgent measures are adopted at the legislative level.
