The present Mayor of Perm, Yuri Trutnev, supported by Yabloko won in the first round of gubernatorial elections in Perm region (December 3, 2000) obtained 51.48% of the votes.

His rival was the present governor of the region Gennadi Igumnov, who was supported by Unity, the Communist Party of the RF and the Union of Right-Wing Forces.

At the elections for the governor of Kamchatka Region, the First Deputy Governor Boris Sinchenko, supported by Yabloko, reached the second round: he obtained more than 27% of the votes, 7% ahead of his competitor.

Anatoli Guzhvin, who obtained 81% of the votes was with the support of Yabloko again elected governor of Astrakhan Region.

On December 3, 2000 candidates from the Yabloko Association won elections to be mayors in cities in Stavropol and Krasnodar Areas.

Oleg Yurtayev, 40, member of the local Yabloko branch, was for the second time elected Mayor of the city Kropotkin (Krasnodar Area): he obtained 71% of the votes.

During the elections to the City Duma of the city Kropotkin, the head of the Krasnodar Area branch of Yabloko, the present Chairman of the city Duma Murad Akhedzhak was again elected deputy to the Duma, winning 67.7% of the votes. Based on the results of these elections the Yabloko faction in the city Duma will amount to 45 deputies out of the total 50.

Olga Kovalyova, the leader of the local Yabloko organisation was elected

Mayor of the city of Zelenokumsk (Stavropol Area). She won the support of 35% of the electorate, ahead of the present mayor by 8%.

On December 3, 2000 the following Yabloko members were elected deputies to regional legislative bodies:

• the Head of the regional branch of Yabloko in Perm Evgeni Shevtsov (35.9% of the votes) was elected deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Perm;
• the Head of the regional branch of Yabloko Vadim Monin and member of Yabloko Gennadi Smirnov were elected to the Legislative Assembly of Astrakhan;
• Yabloko members Sergei Shaigorodskiy and Vladislav Funtyukov were elected to the Legislative Assembly of Sochi.
• Yabloko member Irina Paikacheva was once again elected deputy of the City Assembly of Murmansk.

Member of the Bureau of the Central Council of the Yabloko Association Boris Misnik, obtaining 19.5% of the votes in the by-elections to the State Duma in the Monchegorsk district (Murmansk region) came second after the Deputy Governor of the region Igor Chernyshenko.
