YABLOKO leader participated in the inauguration of Yugeny
Urlashyov, the Mayor of Yaroslavl, and congratulated him on
taking the office.

Sergei Mitrokhin discussed with the Mayor the issues of urban
economy and the city budget. "We will try to restore
the law on financial foundations of local self-government
developed by YABLOKO and revoked later by United Russia. If
it had worked, then today the Yaroslavl tax base would have
been several times larger, he said.
The inauguration took place on Saturday at the stadium Spartakovets
during the grand opening of the Day of the City.

The Mayor said that the key projects for him for the initial
period of his term would be restoration of roads and parks.
Yugeni Urlashov was an independent candidate at the elections.
He was supported by YABLOKO and other opposition parties.
Urlashov confidently won against a United Russia candidate.
