The YABLOKO faction has been formed in the Municipal Council
of the Presnensky district, Moscow. It consists of three municipal
deputies: Ekaterina Kalatskaya, Sergei Bocharov and Yuri Novikov.
Despite the fact that municipal deputies decided to create
a faction immediately after the elections in March 2012, they
have managed to implement this only now. Normally formation
of a faction does not require a decision from a municipal
council, however, YABLOKOs deputies had to face resistance
from the chairman and some deputies of the Council.
"Chairman of the Municipal Council has been always finding
faults with our documents. He was even going to send the documents
establishing a faction to Public Prosecutor for approval.
Also deputies E.Kravchenko (CPRF) and L.Alatyrtseva ("United
Russia") were against formation of our faction,"
said Ekaterina Kalatskaya, Vice Chair of the Moscow YABLOKO
and municipal deputy of the Presnensky district in Moscow.
The Municipal Council of the Presnensky district is the only
municipality in Moscow, where an opposition faction was created.
