Mitrokhin released, Gontcharov and Dmitryev still in the police

Three hours after his detention YABLOKO leader Sergei Mitrokhin was released without any charges. However, studying of the law On Elections stipulating the candidate to the State Duma may be detained only on Prosecutors order took the police three hours.

At 7 p.m. Mitrokhin and YABLOKO activists came to Triumfalnaya square so that to participate in the protest action against election fraud and breaking of a rally of December 5.

The square was full with people engaged by the ruling United Russia. Despite of the fact that these people did not have any permit for a rally, the police did not interfere with their actions (they were using flags, megaphones and drums and climbed on telephone booths). Sergei Mitrokhin and Kirill Gontcharov, leader of the Youth YABLOKO, unfolded the Russian flag and made several steps when they were detained by police.

Gontcharov is still in the police charged by participation in an unsanctioned action.

Andrei Dmitryev from YABLOKO is now in Voykovskaya police department. The detained are told that they must give their finger prints in the opposite case they are threatened to be held in the police department until morning.

On December 17 YABLOKO plans to conduct a sanctioned rally against election fraud. The action will be held in the centre of Moscow by Pushkin monument.
