Mitrokhin released, Gontcharov and Dmitryev still in the police
Three hours after his detention YABLOKO leader Sergei Mitrokhin
was released without any charges. However, studying of the
law On Elections stipulating the candidate to the State
Duma may be detained only on Prosecutors order took the police
three hours.
At 7 p.m. Mitrokhin and YABLOKO activists came to Triumfalnaya
square so that to participate in the protest action against
election fraud and breaking of a rally of December 5.
The square was full with people engaged by the ruling United
Russia. Despite of the fact that these people did not have
any permit for a rally, the police did not interfere with
their actions (they were using flags, megaphones and drums
and climbed on telephone booths). Sergei Mitrokhin and Kirill
Gontcharov, leader of the Youth YABLOKO, unfolded the Russian
flag and made several steps when they were detained by police.
Gontcharov is still in the police charged by participation
in an unsanctioned action.
Andrei Dmitryev from YABLOKO is now in Voykovskaya police
department. The detained are told that they must give their
finger prints in the opposite case they are threatened to
be held in the police department until morning.
On December 17 YABLOKO plans to conduct a sanctioned rally
against election fraud. The action will be held in the centre
of Moscow by Pushkin monument.
