Boris Nadezhdin, one of the leaders of the Right Cause
party has been calling voters to vote not only for his party,
but also for YABLOKO.
He explained to the Firstnews that voters often said that
they did not wish to vote for the Right Cause [after the scandal
when the party split against tycoon Mikhail Prokhorov who
had chaired the party]. I normally answer that then they
have to support YABLOKO, Nadezhdin noted.
Also in his discussion with YABLOKO leaders Sergei Mitrokhin
and Alexei Arbatov at the anniversary of the Ekho Mosvkvi
radio station he stated his intention to vote for YABLOKO
at the coming parliamentary elections. When asked by Sergei
Mitrokhin whether YABLOKO could spread this information, Nadezhdin
replied in the affirmative. The next day Kommersant paper
wrote about this.
In addition Boris Nadezhdin told in his interview to the
Firstnews that the Right Cause was ready to support YABLOKO
candidates in single candidate constituencies too.
Sergei Mitrokhin stressed that YABLOKOs supporters could
also vote for the Right Cause candidates in the elections
to the Moscow Region parliament.
YABLOKO decided not to participate in elections to the Moscow
Region parliament due to very tough requirements for non-parliamentary
parties to collect a huge amount of signatures. YABLOKO had
to collect over 110,000 signatures. The party will appeal
against such tough requirements in the Constitutional Court.
