| Eugenia Chirikova, leader of the movement in protection
of Khimki Forest, supported YABLOKO’s list of candidates to
the Council of Deputes of Khimki. According to YABLOKO’s leader
Sergei Mitrokhin, there were negotiations with Eugenia Chirikova
on her joining YABLOKO’s list, however she refused to participate
in the coming elections in principle.
“Eugenia Chirikova expressed her support to us. We invited
her to join our list of candidates but she refused on personal
grounds,” said Sergei Mitrokhin.
YABLOKO’s list of candidates to the Council of Deputes of
Khimki was approved at the Regional Council of the Moscow
Region branch of YABLOKO. The list is topped by Igor Belousov,
ex Vice Mayor of Khimki, known for his opposition to the present
Mayor Vladimir Strelchenko.
The second top candidate is Mark Rudny, famous public figure
and test pilot of space ships, who left the Patriots of Russia
party for YABLOKO.
The third top candidate in YABLOKO’s list is Galina, Lebedeva,
an hounoured teacher.
