A rally against the ruling United Russia party was organised
by the local YABLOKO branch in Yaroslavl. YABLOKOs leader
Sergei Mitrokhin also participated in the action. The rally
gathered about 150 people.
Now we have a popular slogan that United Russia a party
of petty thieves. I disagree here, they are large thieves,
Mitrokhin said in his speech. According to Mitrokhin, bureaucrats
and oligarchs who are joined together in the United Russia
party have been staling everything that can be stolen: from
plots of land to community charges. He gave an example of
the city park, on the few survived after cutting of Yaroslavl
parks under construction sites developed by the company of
local oligarch Panyukov.
We ourselves are to blame that we are robbed of, he said.
We resemble the people who have burglars in their house but
do not want to catch them under the pretext that they are
tired, Mitrokhin added. He also said that if such a trend
went on, the country would simply cease to exist and called
everyone not to miss but vote in the coming elections.
Alexander Simon, head of the local YABLOKO branch said that
the municipal authorities headed by their Mayor Volonchunas
had decided to privities the water canal, which would lead
to the rise of water tariffs and loss of control over the
corresponding communal service. YABLOKO will try to put this
question to the city referendum, he said.
Former MP Eugenia Tishkovskaya called the people to unite
around YABLOKO and win over the party of thieves.
