In April the whole world is commemorating the tragic date
– the Day of Remembrance of Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman
Empire. The tragedy of the Armenian nation has become one
of the first tragic dates in the list of tragedies of the
20th century.
We are commemorating the pain of the Armenian nation not only
because many of the consequences of this genocide are manifest
even at present, but also because such hardships make their
impact on the further destiny of the nation. We have always
felt special closeness with the Armenian people, and therefore
fully share both your historical memory and your pain.
