Public Prosecutor General’s Office withdrew
the responsibility for examination of unlawful privatisation
of land for the so-called "Putin's dacha” (Putin’s country
cottage). That is how YABLOKO’s leader Sergei Mitrokhin commented
the response from Public Prosecutor’s Office on his appeal
to Public Prosecutor General Yury Chaika.
V.Kroshkin, Senior Assistant of Public Prosecutor General,
informed Mitrokhin that his appeal had been forwarded to the
Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Krasnodar Area for a “rapid
response." Kroshkin promised that an audit would be conducted
and if grounds were found, prosecutor’s measures would be
taken.
"I do not understand why the Krasnodar Public Prosecutor’s
Office should deal with this case, as it is a federal facility,
which belonged to the Presidential Property Management Department
," Mitrokhin said.
The plot of land in question was transferred from The Tuapse
Resort House under the Presidential Property Management Department
to the Indokopas company controlled by Nicholai Shamalov between
2005 and 2008. This deal was clearly unlawful, as in accordance
with Part 2 of Article 95 of the Land Code, plots of land
in protected nature reserves can not be privatised.
"The regional authorities are more dependent in this
issue, they even participated in the strange transformation
of the state property too private. Obviously, the answer from
the Krasnodar Area Public Prosecutor’s Office will not be
objective," Mitrokhin noted.
However, Mitrokhin noted that he would wait for a response
from Krasnodar, and if the Prosecutor’s Office did find violations,
YABLOKO’s leader would demand the return of land to state
ownership and free passage of citizens through the territory.
