Printshops in the capital of the Republic of Kalmykia refused to print YABLOKO’s leaflets

Press Release
January 31, 2011

In Elista, the capital of the Republic of Kalmykia, YABLOKO had to face a new problem: print shops refused to print YABLOKO’s leaflets and banners the party was going to use in a picket against raising of tariffs by the monopolies in the housing and utilities sector. In the Logo-Pro printshop (address: Elista, ul Khaninova 8) they boldly stated that they would not print YABLOKO’s leaflets on “political grounds”.

Having to face such an interaction YABLOKO’s activists had to make the leaflets and banners in their office with the help of office PCs and printers. The action will take place in accordance with the application filed with the local authorities on February 1 from 10 to 12 a.m.

The action is held within the framework of the all-Russia against raising of tariffs in the housing and utilities sector held by YABLOKO. The action was launched in Moscow in late December. The same actions were conducted in St.Petersburg, Astrakhan, Ufa, Tomsk, Omsk, Smolensk, Novgorod, Nizhni Novgorod, Ulyanovsk, Volgograd, Klin and other Russia’s cities and town.
