| Regional and local elections will take place in many Russian
regions on a single election day – October 10.
YABLOKO nominated a list of candidates for elections to the
legislative assembly of the Chelyabinsk region. YABLOKO’s
candidate also runs for the legislative assembly of the Novosibirsk
region. In nine more regions YABLOKO runs in municipal elections.
A list of YABLOKO’s candidates was nominated for elections
in the Sebezhsky District of the Pskov region. Also five single-mandate
YABLOKO’s activists run at elections there. And YABLOKO’s
Sergei Semyonov campaigns for the post of the district head.
YABLOKO’s list was also registered for elections to the Tomsk
City Duma, and one YABLOKO’s activist also runs in a single
mandated electoral district.
In the Moscow region YABLOKO participates in elections in
three cities. A party list and single-mandate candidates runs
for the City Council in Fryazino. Alexander Fyrschik, leader
of YABLOKO’s local branch also campaigns for the post of the
city head.
Two YABLOKO’s candidates run for deputies of the City Council
in Podolsk and one candidate in Malakhovka.
In Dagestan YABLOKO’s candidates run in the Katagsky district
and two cities – Ogni and uzhno-Sukhumsk.
Two YABLOKO’s activists campaign for the City Duma in Rostov-Don.
YABLOKO also runs to the representative bodies of the city
of Ishim, Tuman region, and Angarsk, Irkutsk region.
In Stavropol region YABLOKO participates in the elections
to Starodubsky and Kursky local councils.
However, according to head of the Central Electoral Commission
Vladimir Churov, YABLOKO had the highest percentage of refusals
in registration at elections this autumn. Thus, YABLOKO was
denied registration in elections to the legislative assemblies
of Izhevsk, Krasnodar and Tambov. Not all the candidates to
the Rostov-Don city duma passed the registration. YABLOKO’s
candidate to the post of the head of Domodedovo district,
Moscow region, and two candidates to municipal assemblies
in Moscow were withdrawn from elections.
On the election day, October 10, YABLOKO will inform the
media of any violations during voting. This information will
be published at YABLOKO’s web-site.
