The Russian Democratic Party YABLOKO, February 6, 2004

Terrorism is a villainy which knows no boundaries

Statement

On behalf of the Russian Democratic Party YABLOKO I express my sincere condolences to the families of the victims of the act of terror in the Moscow Metro on February 6, 2004, and all those who suffered hours of agony and uncertainty as they waited to hear from their next to kin.

Terrorism is a bloody barbarinism. This is not the first time that Russia has been laid low. All the political forces should unite in the fight against terror to free our compatriots from terror and fear for their loved ones.

There is no justification for terrorism - neither political or religious or any other. There is no justification for murder or murder threats of innocent and defenseless people. Terrorism does not arise from poverty or suffering, or even revenge. It is simply villainy which knows no boundaries.

The Russian Democratic Party YABLOKO is ready to provide any aid that the victims and the authorities in Moscow and Russia may need.

We feel this grief together with everyone else.

Chairman of the party

Grigory Yavlinsky
