The leader of YABLOKO Grigory Yavlinsky and presidential candidate Irina Khakamada believe that it is necessary to form a broad democratic coalition after the presidential elections. They made this statement at the international conference “Are Free Elections Possible in Russia?” on Wednesday in Moscow. Yavlinsky also noted that future cooperation between YABLOKO and the party to be created by Irina Khakamada was quite possible.
“The policies implemented by a number of SPS leaders such as Anatoly Chubais and Alfred Kokh were principally inadmissible for YABLOKO. Speaking about other people who left the SPS or are inclined to do so – here certainly serious negotiations are possible,” said Yavlinsky.
He also drew the attention of the journalists to the fact that in her speeches Irina Khakamada had acknowledged a number of errors made by her colleagues in the SPS and called this acknowledgment as “a moment of truth.”
