The Yabloko party intends to appeal to court over the
violations registered during the parliamentary elections, Sergey
Ivanenko, Head of the Yabloko party election campaign declared. In
his words, the Party was deprived of legal representation in the RF State
Duma. Notably, the leadership of the Communist Party of Russia approves
of the decision to appeal to Court. The same position is taken by Nikolay
Kharitonov, who has been nominated by the Communist party as its candidate
for RF President.
In accordance with the Parliamentary Elections' results, the Yabloko
party was not included in the RF state Duma of the fourth convocation
since it failed to obtain the necessary 5% votes. Right after disclosure
of the formal results of the parliamentary elections, the Communists announced
that certain violations had been registered during the elections. The
Communist party reportedly conducted a parallel vote-counting and announced
that both Yabloko and the Union of Right-Wing Forces (SPS) parties had
overcome the necessary barrier (5%) and that two-thirds of the protocols
used in the election’s state automated system had no legal force.
