The YABLOKO party is going to contest in court the
results of the parliamentary elections which took place on December 7,
2003. The party thinks that the public should be informed about incidents
of election fraud, and those responsible for the falsification of the
results of the elections should be punished.
The party has been conducting an alternative manual recount of votes
since December 12, 2003. According to its preliminary results, the party
did overcome the five per cent barrier.
So far 10,000 copies of protocols from electoral districts have been
checked. In total YABLOKO has 20,000 copies and is ready to pass its copies
to the CPRF.
The lists of the manual recount of votes will be supplied with notarially
confirmed testimonies of violations as well as the copies of protocols
and testimonies on the falsification of elections in 1999 and 2000.
To contest the results of the federal elections in the country in general,
the Central Electoral Commission and courts should be provided with evidence
of falsifications in 50% +1 electoral districts.
