Moscow, May 9, 2004. The act of terror in Grozny confirms
that the situation in Chechnya is far from stable and war against everyone
is going on there. Such a statement was made by Deputy Head of the YABLOKO
faction Sergei Mitrokhin to
a Rosbalt correspondent. It is not obvious that the act of terror was performed
by Basayev s allies, noted Mitrokhin. Representatives of some competing
clan could be the organisers of the assassination of Kadyrov.
According to the Deputy Head of the YABLOKO party, the clan-based system of
power formed in Chechnya is extremely inefficient and dangerous. The fact
that Kadyrov's son was the head of security demonstrates that the president
of Chechnya did not trust anyone, stressed Mitrokhin. Therefore there
is nothing surprising in such developments. This had to happen sooner
or later.
Today in the morning there was a powerful explosion in the Dinamo stadium
in
Grozny during the celebrations of the Victory Day there. According to
doctors and personnel of the Ministry for Emergencies, the number of victims
from the act of terror amounts to from 30 to 40 people, with about 50
people
injured. The Regional Head-Quarters for Managing the Anti-Terror Operation
confirmed the information on the death of the President of Chechnya Kadyrov.
