Yabloko files lawsuits concerning 2003 Duma elections.

MOSCOW, March 10 (Itar-Tass) - Alexander Veshnyakov, head of the Russian Central Electoral Commission, told the Ekho Moskvy radio on Wednesday that theYabloko party didn't stand a chance to win its lawsuits concerning the results of the parliamentary elections in Russia if its accusations are based on the same materials that the Russian Central Electoral Commission studied earlier.

Veshnyakov recalled that the Yabloko party had sued several regional commissions for rigging the vote count. These lawsuits will be considered by local courts.

Veshnyakov said that the Russian Central Electoral Commission had recommendedYabloko file lawsuits only if it has any serious grounds. He said he would like to knowwhy the Yabloko party decided to go ahead with the lawsuit three months after the endof the Duma election campaign.

At the same time, Veshnyakov noted that the trials held out little promise for a successful outcome if thematerials involved are those that have already been studied by the Central Electoral Commission or have been checked in 50 Russian regions on Veshnyakov's order.
