MOSCOW, February 25 (RIA Novosti correspondent Nikolai
Makarov) - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) sent letters to the leader
of the YABLOKO party, Grigory Yavlinsky,
and the leader of the KPRF party, Gennady Zyuganov, stating that there
were no grounds to doubt the outcome of the State Duma elections in the
federal district.
Gennady Zyuganov and Grigory Yavlinsky had sent complaints to the CEC,
asserting that votes were falsified during the vote-counting process.
"There were no falsifications during the State Duma elections,"
stated Head of the CEC Alexander Veshnyakov.
"There was recklessness and disorder in the work of some election
commissions as well as in the work of some election observers representing
these political parties."
Veshnyakov told journalists that the heads and members of the local
electoral commissions who neglected their duties and were careless during
the vote counting, "are no longer working there."
