| Moscow. By and large, the "YABLOKO" party
is prepared to contest the formal results of the Parliamentary Elections
of December 7, 2003. The aforementioned decision was taken at the Presidium
of the party Federal Council Bureau, according to the "YABLOKO"
press service. In addition the party confirmed its intention not to announce
any candidate for the RF Presidential Elections planned for March 14,
2004.
The statement reads that the actual election system of the Russian Federation
is being transformed into a "farce", as it lacks key components
of the democratic election system like the independent mass media, independent
financing and independent court.
