| According to RIA Press-Line information agency today,
on March 3, 3003 members of the permanent Commission on Natural Resources,
Ecology and Protection of Nature of the Legislative Assembly of Krasnoyarsk
Territory supported the draft law of the State Duma deputy Sergei
Mitrokhin. Mitrokhin stated that the draft law made changes to the
Forestry Code of the Russian Federation and limited the transfer of forest
areas to other categories of fields for forests of the 1st category. Mitrokhin
also proposed only permitting such a transfer in a very limited number
of cases: to implement international obligations, build educational or
health care institutions, build the main line networks for oil and gas
pipelines, railroads and car roads.
The draft law will also bring into compliance the Forestry Code
of the Russian Federation and the Land Code of the Russian Federation.
Consequently deputies decided to support the draft law and submit
it for discussions.
