MOSCOW, September 5. 69% of Russians say that the YUKOS
scandal is tied directly or indirectly to a redistribution of property
in the country, according to a recent Public Opinion survey. Only 6% of
the Russians polled disagreed with that opinion, while 25% said they weren't
sure.
In all 41% of the polled said that the redistribution of property would
be detrimental to the authority of the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
12% of respondents said that it would be beneficial to his authority.
The rest were not sure. The survey was conducted at the end of August.
In all 1,500 people were polled.
