| A political campaign against YABLOKO conducted with the
participation of the leadership of RAO "UES of Russia" continues.
Such a statement was made by Deputy Head of the YABLOKO party Sergei
Mitrokhin during debates with Chairman of the Creative Council of the
SPS, member of the Board of the RAO UES Leonid Gozman. According to Mitrokhin,
fake candidates, former activists of "Yabloko Without Yavlinsky"
movement are standing against YABLOKO in single-mandate electoral districts.
In addition Mitrokhin stated that SPS members, including Gozman, continue
spreading libel that YABLOKO allegedly owned the USD 700,000 confiscated
during the search of the "Strategic Communications Agency" consulting
company; whereas if one should believe the transcripts of audio records
published at compromat.ru web-site, and Leonid Gozman acknowledged their authenticity,
RAO UES has been financing the SPS parliamentary election campaign directly
from its budget. "This actually violates the law, as this [RAO UES]
is a state-owned company," said Mitrokhin. According to Mitrokhin,
this makes the SPS quite vulnerable. "We would like to discuss all
these developments with [SPS heads] Boris Nemtsov and Irina Khakamada,"
added Mitrokhin.
