Liquidation of TV-6 is not a dispute between economic subjects,
this is manifestation of thepolitical will at the top.
Such an opinion was expressed to RosbusinessConsulting by a member
of the Security Committeeof the State Duma Valery Ostanin. According
to Ostanin, "a court ruling is implemented over a six-month
period, during which time it should be possible to file appeals
with courts of a higher instance"
Ostanin thinks that "destroying the last independent television
channel will dramatically limit the right of Russian citizens
to obtaininformation." At the same time Ostanin noted that
"the heads of TV-6 channel should not have forgotten the
sad experience of ruining NTV. They should have performed their
activities legally irreproachably." "In this sense they
were to some extent unconcerned and light-minded," added
Ostanin.
