Moscow, April 19 (MK-Novosti). The leader of the Duma YABLOKO
faction Grigory Yavlinsky insists on removing the draft law "On
Citizenship in the RF" from the third reading in the Duma
today, as the text differs from the version adopted by the lower
chamber in the second reading. The information disseminated by
the press service of the faction on behalf of faction leader Grigory
Yavlinsky indicates that the text of the draft law "On Citizenship
in the RF" offered deputies today does not contain the amendment
of the YABLOKO faction deputies Sergei Popov, Igor Artemyev and
Mikhail Emelyanov that was unanimously adopted by the Duma and
supported by the representative of the President in the Duma Alexander
Kotenkov. The amendment enabled a disabled parent whose child
has Russian citizenship to obtain Russian citizenship in a simplified
order, regardless of the term of residence in the RF and other
conditions. YABLOKO also insists on drafting the law on citizenship
in accordance with the text adopted by the chamber in the second
reading.
